About Us

Mother of Hope is inspired by the original Baby Safe Haven program in New York.  Focused on preventing infanticide, this program was founded by New York medic Timothy Jaccard.  Disheartened by the growing number of newborn murders perpetrated by new mother, Timothy grew weary of planning infant funerals and focused his attention on creating solutions.  He initiated the Baby Safe Haven movement which allows mothers in distress to relinquish their newborn infants at any hospital in the United States (and some firestations and police stations).  The Mother of Hope program carries forward his mission by providing information and direct services to women experiencing one of the most dire situations in their lives, and ensuring that all babies remain safe and loved.  

Mother of Hope (MOH) seeks to prevent infanticide and to serve women and children in the State of Virginia.  We accomplish this by providing information about the Baby Safe Haven program that operates within the state and throughout the nation and by providing direct services to both the  women who chose to relinquish their children as well as those who opt to parent their newborn babies by offering financial assistance, career counseling as well as the clothing and household supplies that can make a difference to a woman in need.
